The III International investment forum "The Future of the Crimea" was held on October 19-21, 2009 in the town of Sudak on the basis of the Tourist-recreational complex "Sudak"
This event is one of the largest events for the Crimea in the development of investment activity, which gathers representatives of the political and business elite of the Crimea and Ukraine for three years.
This year the forum was attended by representatives of Russia, Turkey, the European Union, namely Great Britain, Germany, Latvia, Poland and other countries.
The forum attracted more than 700 people in 2009 year.
The organizers of the forum were:
- Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea
- Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea.
Co-organizers:
- Eastern Committee of German Economy
- The German office for technical cooperation (GTZ)
- Crimean regional center for innovation development of the State agency of Ukraine for investments and innovations
With the assistance of:
- Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Crimea
- Ltd company "East-Crimean Stock Company"
- Public organization «Institute for assistance in regional security studies».
Targets of the Forum are: presentation of innovation and investment opportunities and prospects of development of the Crimea, discussion of regional development problems, mechanisms and instruments of investment activity, broadening and intensification of inter-regional cooperation, establishing partnerships with private capital.
In the frameworks of international forum there was conducted an exhibition-presentation of innovative and investment potential of the region (the fair of innovative technologies, investment proposals of Crimean regions and initiators of investment projects) and 8 working sections, where the topical questions of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea were discussed:
Forum participants had an opportunity to get acquainted with the exposition, where more than 140 investment projects of the autonomy were represented. The initiators of investment projects and representatives of the Crimean regions participated in the exhibition.
In the frameworks of the Forum there were signed several memorandums of cooperation:
- Between Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea and the German Office for Technical Cooperation in Ukraine for implementation in 2009-2011 of general activities to support economic development and employment in the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea in the frameworks of a new GTZ project "Promoting economic development and employment;
- Between the Ministry of economy of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea and Republican Economic Chamber of Poland in the sphere of attracting investments, development of vacant industrial sites of the Crimea and creation of new jobs.
In addition, the memorandums were signed between the Republican Economic Chamber of Poland, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea and the Ministry of education of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea on cooperation in relevant spheres.
